European F3’s championship leader Raffaele Marciello has gone quickest over the two sessions of collective testing at Vallelunga ahead of the penultimate racing weekend of the series’ season.
However, while the Italian would wind up with the fastest lap of the day, he did not manage to top the timesheets in the first session, narrowly losing out to Carlin man Daniil Kvyat.
Another driver from the British squad – Nicholas Latifi – was third, closely edging out Lucas Auer. Van Amersfoort’s recent signing Sven Muller was fifth, ahead of yet another Carlin driver Harry Tincknell and his Prema compatriot Lynn.
Jordan King and Jann Mardenborough made it five Carlin machines out of five in the top ten in eighth and ninth respectively, while T-Sport’s Alexander Sims completed the top ten.
In the afternoon run, Marciello rather comfortably claimed the top spot, with 1:29.220 being the best lap of the day. Sims, who led the opening stages of the session, settled for second, with Carlin duo of Kvyat and King taking third and fourth.
Lynn closed out the top five, placing one spot ahead of his teammate Auer. Pipo Derani was the quickest Fortec driver in seventh, while Muller took eighth, almost exactly repeating his laptime from the previous session. Championship hopeful Felix Rosenqvist settled for ninth, whilst Mardenborough rounded out the top ten.
