Charles Leclerc set the quickest time in a wet morning session on day two of FIA F3 European Championship pre-season testing at Valencia.
With weather conditions deteriorating as the four hours of running went on, Leclerc posted his best of 1m36.530 on the 25th lap of the 62 he completed. That time was almost 12 seconds off the pace set by Antonio Giovinazzi in the dry on Tuesday.
Red Bull Junior Callum Ilott was second, 0.734s adrift of Leclerc’s time. Fabian Schiller of West-Tec and Matt Solomon of Double R capitalised on the conditions to complete the top four.
George Russell was fifth and Alessio Lorandi sixth as F3 rookies locked out the top half-dozen places.
German champion Markus Pommer took seventh, just ahead of Italian F4 winner Lance Stroll and his Toyota Racing Series rival Arjun Maini. Maximilian Gunther rounded out the top ten.
