William Buller will continue racing in Formula 3 for a fourth season having switched to T-Sport to drive one of their Nissan-engined cars in the FIA F3 European Championship.

The Northern Irishman contested a dual campaign in F3 and GP3 last year with Carlin, finishing fifth in the F3 Euro Series and 15th in GP3. He previously competed in British F3 for two years with the Hitech and Fortec squads.

He joins Spike Goddard at T-Sport, who ran one Nissan-engined F312 for Nick McBride in British F3 last year but also won a Euro Series race with Alexander Sims at the Nurburgring.

“The combination of team, car and engine is a very strong package so I know I can go and compete at the front,” said 20-year-old Buller. “The new European series will be very competitive, but after racing in Europe last year I know what to expect and we have every chance of bringing home some great results.”

T-Sport boss Russell Eacott said: “I think Will is going to be a great asset to the team. We know he can win races so we have everything to play for in the championship. We tested him at Spa and Silverstone at the end of 2011 and he was tremendously quick and he impressed the engineers. We didn’t quite manage to hook up a deal for 2012, so it’s good to get him now.”
