Ralf Aron scored his seventh Italian F4 victory of the season after leading every lap of the weekend’s first race at Imola.
The Estonian led the field off the line and although he was closely followed by Guan Yu Zhou and Robert Shwartzman?for a handful of laps, he eventually saw the checkered flag five seconds in the clear.
His Chinese teammate at Prema started to fall back into the clutches of Shwartzman, the Russian eventually making a successful move after a couple of attempts.
David Beckmann inherited fourth after?Joao Vieira dived to the inside of Marcos Siebert at the first corner, which forced the Argentinian to cut the chicane and left his own car with broken suspension.
Although Siebert managed to rejoin in fourth, he was soon overtaken by Beckmann and endured a difficult race to end up 18th.
The top five was rounded out by the third Mucke car of Lando Norris, who made his way up from 10th on the grid, followed by RB Racing’s Diego Bertonelli and maiden point-scorer Ye Yifei.
The top ten was completed by Australian Alex Peroni, Brazilian Giuliano Raucci and Campos Academy driver Kevin Kanayet.
The final stages of the race included a big incident between Bar Baruch and Lucas Mauron when contact at the Tamburello chicane led to the former’s right-rear tyre flying over his own car.
Following his triumph, Aron’s lead in the championship is 70 points over Zhou.
