Lewis Williamson put new GP3 Series entrants Bamboo Engineering on top spot on the final day of the first pre-season test at Estoril.
The day began with torrential rain as well as an early red flag for a stray dog on track. It was another new team Koiranen GP who ended the session in first place thanks to Kevin Korjus, with a time of 1m42.420s. Fellow series rookie, and the pacesetter on Wednesday and Thursday, Carlos Sainz Jr was a close second for MW Arden ahead of ART Grand Prix?s Jack Harvey and Sainz?s teammate Daniil Kvyat.
Alex Fontana (Jenzer), Dino Zamparelli (Marussia Manor) and the other two Koiranen cars of Aaro Vainio and Patrick Kujala rounded out the top eight.
In the drier afternoon session it was Scottish driver Williamson who posted the fastest time to finish nine tenths clear of Kvyat and the third MW Arden man Robert Visoiu.
Harvey and Zamparelli completed strong days with the fourth and fifth fastest times respectively ahead of Trident?s David Fumanelli. Jenzer duo Fontana and Patric Niederhauser were seventh and eighth, with the top ten completed by Facu Regalia (ART) and Korjus.
The second pre-season test takes place at Barcelona?s Circuit de Catalunya on 12-13 March.
