MP Motorsport has added its Spanish Formula 4 champion Amaury Cordeel to its Formula Renault Eurocup line-up for 2019.
The Belgian driver joins second-year Eurocup racers Victor Martins and Lorenzo Colombo in MP’s line-up.
Cordeel previously competed in French F4 during 2017, and had outings in a number of other F4 series last year alongside his Spanish campaign, appearing in the German, Italian, North European Zone and United Arab Emirates championships.
He is currently competing in the Asian Formula 3 Winter Series, gaining experience of the Tatuus regional F3 car that the Formula Renault Eurocup will adopt this year.
?I am happy to be staying with MP for my promotion to Formula Renault?, said Cordeel.
“Sticking with the team will be a known quantity in a year in which it will be all change for me ? moving up one level, and with all-new cars.
“However, MP has a winning record in the Eurocup so I hope that along with Victor and Lorenzo we can add to that in 2019.?
Cordeel’s older brother Ghislain previously raced in the Eurocup with the Arden team in 2017.
?It?s nice that Amaury has chosen to move up with us,” said team boss Sander Dorsman.
?We worked very well together last year, and I?m sure we will build on that level of cooperation for a solid debut season for Amaury in Formula Renault.?
