Rosso claims first win in Brands Hatch opener

by Peter Allen

Juan Rosso scored his first Formula Ford GB win in race one at Brands Hatch.

The Argentine worked his way past surprise front row starters Simon Rudd and James Abbott on the first lap to move into the lead.

Abbott kept Rosso honest for most of the race, remaining within 1.5 seconds until gearbox problems began to take their toll. Harrison Scott moved past on the last lap to take second, finishing 3.4 seconds behind Rosso.

Rosso’s Jamun team-mate Jayde Kruger finished in fourth place ahead of JTR duo Sam Brabham and Max Marshall.

Andy Richardson was seventh ahead of Camren Kaminsky, who dropped two places with a last corner off. Rudd and his Falcon team-mate Luke Reade completed the top ten.
