Roman Bilinski will drive for Trident’s Formula Regional European Championship team for a third successive season in 2024.

The British-Polish driver was part of the team’s inaugural FREC line-up when it entered the series in 2022, having previously raced in British Formula 4 and GB3.

He finished 18th in the standings as a rookie, taking a third-place finish at the Hungaroring as one of two points scores. He claimed five points finishes in 2023 with a best of fifth at Zandvoort, ending up 21st in the championship.

Bilinski continued with Trident into post-season testing over recent months and topped the timesheets at the Red Bull Ring, Mugello and Imola, and both parties hope to build on that performance.

“I’m very excited to be staying with Trident for the 2024 season,” Bilinski said.

“It’s a great opportunity for both of us, and I think a lot of success can come from it. We’ve been very strong in testing, so now let’s just put it together, and hopefully, we will be able to perform well throughout the season.”

Before returning to FREC, Bilinski will add to his FRegional experience by racing in the Oceania series in New Zealand.

“In the last couple of seasons, we saw Roman progress as a driver and a person, and therefore I’m delighted to have him with us again,” said Trident chief Maurizio Salvadori.

“First of all, because we think he is an extremely fast driver, but also because of the particularly tight bond between him and the whole team.

“The winter tests we just completed with Roman provided another chance to share the work on track, and the results enable us to look at the coming season with great optimism.”

Bilinski will be joined in Trident’s FREC line-up next year by F4 graduate and new Alpine junior Niko Lacorte.
