Swiss driver Sandro Zeller will continue racing for his father’s team in European F3, the series having confirmed him for a 2013 seat.
Zeller, 21, has spent his entire career in single-seaters with Jo Zeller Racing, starting off in Formula Lista Junior in 2008. Finishing 14th in his first year, he continued in the series the next year, taking one win and finishing fifth overall. He made the switch to German F3 in 2010, finishing 17th and scoring three points over the year. He also took part in Austrian F3, finishing third and taking the title the subsequent year.
In 2012, he entered F3 Euro Series for a full-time campaign as the only driver, contesting the entire series in an F308 (compared to the main class F312 cars). He finished 12th in the overall standings, ahead of two full-time F312 drivers.
Zeller will make the switch to F312 machinery in 2013, putting him on level field with other drivers in the series. Alongside the Swiss driver, Jo Zeller Racing is expected to run another car.
