Mucke driver Felix Rosenqvist will be included in the classifications of the first two races of the Norisring European F3 weekend, the series’ official Twitter account has confirmed thsi morning.
Rosenqvist, who was scheduled to start from the back in the three races of the weekend after his qualifying resuts were deemed void due to a fuel irregularity. He lined up in his original grid positions, however, after the Mucke team filed an appeal.
The Swede was racing under threat of disqualification in both Saturday races, finishing second on the road on both occasions, yet not allowed to step onto the podium. While his name was stricken out of the official classification, he will now be reinstated to his podium-winning positions for both races.
The decision means that Rosenqvist will now trail championship leader Raffaele Marciello by only 31.5 points in the standings, as opposed to the 70.5 points deficit that’d be applicable if the decision stood.
