Singaporean talent Danial Frost will step up to Indy Lights this year as team-mate to Kyle Kirkwood at Andretti Autosport.
The 18-year-old competed in Indy Pro 2000 last year and took two wins for Exclusive Autosport while RP Motorsport’s Kirkwood won the title.
Wins had also come in Formula 4 South East Asia, Formula Masters China and MRF Challenge earlier in Frost’s career.
“To be a member of Andretti Autosport is truly an honor,” said Frost.
“I?m very excited to be driving for a renowned team and I?m looking forward to the 2020 season.”
“I am very thankful for this opportunity and especially to my sponsor Denjet. Also, I would like to thank my family, friends and fans that are supporting me.”
Andretti is expected to add at least more full-time entry to its Indy Lights roster, with race-winner Robert Megennis favourite for a return to the team.
J-F Thormann, the president of Andretti Autosport, said: “It is with great pleasure that we welcome Danial to our Indy Lights program.
?Danial has shown impressive speed and talent across his racing career and we are excited to see what 2020 has in store for him and our Indy Lights team.”
The last two Indy Lights titles have been won by Andretti drivers, and the team will also be fielding four cars in-house in IndyCar this year in addition to a co-entry with Harding Steinbrenner Racing for 2018 Indy Lights runner-up Colton Herta and technical support for Meyer Shank Racing’s two-time Indy Lights runner-up Jack Harvey.
