Kirill Karpov was the quickest driver in the French F4 grid in qualifying at Le Mans, taking pole for the opening race of the season.
The Russian karting graduate narrowly bested pre-season favorite Anthoine Hubert, who will be joining him on front row. The poleman’s compatriot Ivan Kostyukov took third, ahead of Florian Pottier and Felix Hirsiger.
RACB-backed youngster Neal Van Vaerenbergh kicked off his French F4 season with a sixth place, ahead of French drivers Jules Gounon and Valentin Naud. Dennis Anoschin and Matevos Isaakyan rounded out the top ten.
