Schothorst and Ocon quickest on day one of Eurocup test at Paul Ricard

Steijn Schothorst and Esteban Ocon were the early pace setters at the Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup collective test at Paul Ricard yesterday.

The Dutchman Schothorst finished the wet morning session top ahead of MP Motorsport driver Oliver Rowland. Rounding out the top ten from the morning session were Frenchman Ocon, Oscar Tunjo, Ed Jones, Nyck de Vries, Felipe Fraga, Matthieu Vaxivi?re, Jake Dennis and Mikko Pakari.

On a drying track in the afternoon session it was again ART Junior Team driver Ocon, who set the pace at the Aragon test last month, who topped the time sheets. It was again British driver Rowland in second plane, closely followed by Guilherme Silva. Dennis, de Vries, Pierre Gasly, Jones, Tunjo, Aur?lien Panis and Vaxivi?re completed the top ten. Victor Franzoni had posted the second best time but was disqualified for having an underweight car.

Testing continues today at Paul Ricard before the first round of the Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup takes on April 27th & 28th at Aragon.
