Carlin has signed Ginetta Junior driver Finley Green as its first driver for its return to British Formula 4 in 2019.

Green has spent two years in Ginetta Junior, on the same TOCA support bill as British F4, taking one win and two further podiums with Elite Motorsport.

The 16-year-old is the first driver to commit to British F4 for next year, although the rest of Carlin’s four car line-up is expected to be announced in the coming weeks and there are several other drivers that are considering the series.

?I am really excited to be racing for Carlin next season in the British F4 championship,” Green said.

“Carlin has already proven itself in the championship so it?s a fantastic opportunity for me to be part of their 2019 comeback. It’s won F4 championships in the past so everything is in place for me to have a super exciting first season in F4 ? I can?t wait to be out in the car and racing!?

?We?re delighted to be back in the British F4 championship and helping young, talented drivers in their first seasons in single seaters,” added team racing director Trevor Carlin.

“Fin represents this perfectly and has already shown a great deal of potential in testing. The team are already working hard in preparation for next season and no doubt it will be a very busy winter for Fin and the rest of the team.?
