Championship leader James Munro got off to a fine start in the third round of the Formula Masters China series at Inje, by going fastest in the Friday morning practice session.
The 17-year-old Kiwi went quickest halfway through the session, and beat KCMG teammate Dan Wells by just under two tenths of a second. Wells however, had the best ultimate time in all three sectors.
Meritus driver Andersen Martono was third quickest, just 0.024 seconds ahead of Eurasia’s Matthew Solomon. Indian driver Akhil Rabindra was fifth fastest for Meco, with Solomon’s teammate Pu Jun Jin beating the third KCMG driver Matthew Swanepoel.
Yuan Bo was eighth quickest, with Zen Motorsport drivers Ronald Wu and Yin Hai Tao rounding off the top ten.
Inje will play host to four races this weekend instead of the normal quota of three, to make up for the washed-out third race in round one at Zhuhai.
