Fortec Motorsports’ Nikolas Taylor boosted his GB4 title hopes with a double pole position in qualifying on Brands Hatch’s Grand Prix layout.

Kevin Mills Racing duo Jarrod Waberski and Tom Mills were Taylor’s closest challenges, and will start from second and third respectively in both races one and two.

Taylor led the way on his first flying lap of the session before Waberski took over at the top of the times with a 1m25.585s.

Despite improving further, Waberski was soon demoted to second by Taylor, who ended the session with a best time of 1m24.672s that was almost three tenths of a second faster than anyone else to earn his seventh and eighth poles of the season as his second-best laptime was enough to put him on pole for race two by 0.356s.

Hillspeed’s title contender Max Marzorati was over a second off the pace in fourth, with Elite Motorsport’s Jack Sherwood and Graham Brunton Racing’s Logan Hannah filling row three of the grid for the first two races.

Megan Gilkes was outside of the 103% qualifying limit with her best effort, qualifying 2.556s off pole, but it is not anticipated that it should prevent her from racing.
