Stuvik blitzes F3 Open field at Spa

Championship leader Sandy Stuvik secured his second pole position of the season in qualifying for the F3 Open race one at Spa-Francorchamps.

The Thai racer produced a dominant display, beating nearest rival Alexandre Cougnaud by seven tenths of a second.

Ed Jones, the main rival of the championship leader, will start right behind Stuvik on the second row, alongside fellow title contender 16-year-old Santiago Urrutia.

Hector Hurst took fifth, with Richard Gonda impressively taking sixth and, with it, another Copa pole position, 1.6s faster than second-in-class Tommaso Menchini, who finished 14th overall

Alex Toril will try to maintain his consistent performance from seventh, having? scored points in every single race of this season thus far. Jonathan Legris marked his series return with an impressive eighth place, with debutant Brandon Maisano and Yarin Stern completing the top ten.

A troubled session for title contender Nelson Mason saw him all the way down in 23rd.
