Stefano Coletti recorded the fastest time on day one of the second and final pre-season GP2 Series test at Barcelona.

The day?s running began with heavy rain, with James Calado mastering the conditions the best to post the quickest time of 1m50.928s. Daniel De Jong took P2, nearly a second slower, ahead of Swiss pair Simon Trummer and Fabio Leimer.

Leimer?s new Racing Engineering teammate Julian Leal was fifth ahead of Tom Dillmann with brand new team Russian Time, while Daniel Abt and Felipe Nasr rounded out the top eight. Robin Frijns took ninth, with Rene Binder tenth.

The rain stopped in the afternoon, allowing the track to dry and Coletti to set a 1m29.868s. That was enough to edge out Nasr and Frijns, while Calado was fourth. Johnny Cecotto took fifth ahead of Leimer.

Stephane Richelmi, De Jong, Jolyon Palmer and Abt completed the top ten, within seven tenths of Coletti.

Conor Daly and Luciano Bacheta finished up 21st and 24th on their GP2 debuts, with the latter saying he will be replaced at Russian Time by former F2 rival Christopher Zanella tomorrow.
