Robert Shwartzman has been stripped of victory for the second time in the Formula Renault Eurocup round at Paul Ricard, handing rival Sacha Fenestraz victory and an increased championship lead.

Shwartzman was excluded from race two after his car failed post-race scrutineering, where it was found it didn’t conform to the technical regulations concerning the anti-oil-surge plate.

That comes after he was handed a time penalty for his clash with Fenestraz on the last lap of race one that flipped the Franco-Argentine’s car.

Fenestraz this time inherits the win from Shwartzman, after keeping Max Defourny at bay to finish second.

His championship lead is now 27 points over Will Palmer, who gets promoted from fifth to fourth, behind Gabriel Aubry.

Shwartzman is now 52 points off the lead.
