Pinnacle Motorsport has revealed a line-up of four drivers for the Formula Regional Middle East championship that starts next weekend.

Leading the quartet is 19-year-old Spanish racer Mari Boya, who won two races and came fifth in the FRME standings last year. He also raced in the FRegional-based Eurocup-3, where five wins made him title runner-up, and in the FIA Formula 3 Championship. Boya took one podium and came 17th in the standings, and he will continue to race in F3 this year.

Giovanni Maschio competed in FRME and FRegional Europe in 2023, coming 30th in the former and 34th in the latter with no points in either championship. In addition to joining Pinnacle in the United Arab Emirates this month, it has been announced he will move from Monolite Racing to Race Performance Motorsport for his second season in FREC.

“I’m really excited to join R-P-M for next season. After all the post-season tests we are ready to fight together,” said the 17-year-old Italian.

“I would like to thank the team for giving me this opportunity, and my family to support me in every moment of my career.”

Pinnacle’s other two signings are Alexander Abkhazava and Finley Green.

Georgian-Russian racer Abkhazava graduated from karting at the start of last year and came 28th in Formula 4 United Arab Emirates with R-ace GP. He then joined Drivex School in Spanish F4 and was 24th in the standings. Following his FRME campaign, he will drive for Sainteloc Racing in Eurocup-3.

Green has a history of racing in sportscars, starting off in Ginetta Junior where he took one win and two further podiums over two seasons. He was then set to switch to single-seaters with Rodin Carlin in British F4 in 2019, but instead raced in the Ginetta GT4 Supercup and came eighth in the standings with one podium. Green contested the first three rounds of the 2020 season, then stopped his car racing career.

He was back in action last November, joining G4 Racing for FRegional tests at the Red Bull Ring and Mugello, then switched to Arden for two days of testing at Barcelona in December.
