Mari Boya has signed to join Campos Racing for his second season in the FIA Formula 3 championship.

It will mark the first time the 19-year-old Spaniard has driven for a team from his home country in single-seaters, having primarily been in the line-up of Dutch teams so far in his career.

In 2020 he was Spanish Formula 4 runner-up with MP Motorsport, and in 2021 came 14th in the Formula Regional European Championship standings with Van Amersfoort Racing. He switched to ART Grand Prix for 2022 and made the podium in race three of the season, but left them for MP with four rounds to go as he improved to 10th in the points table.

This year he has raced exclusively for MP, but in many different series. He started off in FRegional Middle East, where he came fifth in the standings, then in the FRegional-spec Eurocup-3 series he was runner-up in the title fight.

Alongside that he raced in FIA F3, and a maiden podium in the final round helped him come 17th in the standings. In the FIA F3 World Cup-awarding Macau Grand Prix he qualified 10th, was sixth in the qualification race and fourth in the main race.

“I feel super happy to be joining Campos Racing for a second season of FIA F3. I feel motivated and confident following such positive post-season testing in which was my first time working on track with my new team,” said Boya. “A new era just begins and I’m looking forward to starting the new season and achieve success together.”

Campos’s team principal Adrian Campos Jr commented: “We are glad to have Mari with us for the next season. Definitively, he is one of the most talented drivers in the field.”
