Formula Regional European Championship race-winner Patrik Pasma is the latest name to join the Asian Formula 3 grid, signing a deal to race for Evans GP.
The new outfit, set up by former BlackArts Racing man Josh Evans, has four drivers for the season but not all are set for full campaigns.
W Series-bound Irina Sidorkova and Pasma are set for all five of the Asian F3 rounds, with the season starting at Dubai Autodrome on January 29/30.
“I am very much looking forward to the season with Evans GP Team Oloi,” said Pasma.
“We have a very competitive team and car, so I can focus on my driving and building on the strong results I was able to achieve in Regional F3 last season.”
Pasma finished fourth in the FREC points with four wins last year, and previously raced in the Formula Renault Eurocup, MRF Challenge and British Formula 4. He was also a race-winner in the latter two series.
“Patrik brings a wealth of experience to the team, and we are really looking forward to working with him this season,” Evans said.
“His strong pace and results during last year’s Formula Regional Europe Championship highlighted his abilities and I’m sure he will be a real asset to the team.”
French Formula 4 graduate Isack Hadjar will contest the first three rounds with Evans GP in a car run in partnership with F4 United Arab Emirates team 3Y Technology, with British F4 race-winner Casper Stevenson also commited to three rounds as both drivers are then set to return to Europe to prepare for the Formula Regional European Championship season.
Absolute Racing is yet to name either of its drivers for Asian F3, while Hitech GP is expected to reveal one more signing.
