Alex Ninovic further extended his points lead with another comfortable victory in GB3’s heavily delayed second race of the weekend at Brands Hatch.

An incident in a preceding support race resulted in the contest taking place almost four hours later than scheduled.

Rodin Motorsport’s Ninovic led away from pole at the start and resisted a challenge from Hillspeed’s Freddie Slater into Graham Hill bend, but the safety car was deployed before the first lap was completed after Hitech GP’s Keanu Al Azhari retired following a collision.

The Alpine junior went for a move up the inside of Velocity Racing Developments’ Enzo Tarnvanichkul into Surtees, but contact between the pair on the exit resulted in Al Azhari being speared into the barriers.

Ninovic maintained the lead when racing resumed on lap five of 17, and he gradually edged clear before taking the chequered flag with a two-second winning margin.

In a repeat of the race one result earlier in the weekend, Slater finished second ahead of Hitech’s Deagen Fairclough and Xcel Motorsport’s Patrick Heuzenroder

Rodin’s Gianmarco Pradel came home 0.5s behind fellow title contender Heuzenroeder, but Ninovic’s sixth win of the campaign leaves him with a 67-point advantage heading into the reversed-grid race later in the day.

Hillspeed’s Hiyu Yamakoshi repeated his race one result with sixth, with his team-mate Kanato Le once place behind JHR Developments’ Kai Daryanani in eighth.

Rodin’s Abbi Pulling and JHR’s Noah Lisle completed the top 10, while Elite’s Will Macintye started and finished 11th despite ending up off the road twice on the opening lap.

VRD’s Rodrigo Gonzalez failed to see the chequered flag after sliding into the barriers at Stirling’s on the final tour.
