BRDC British Formula 3 runner-up Nicolai Kjaergaard will remain with Carlin as he moves into Euroformula Open.

The Danish teenager finished second to Linus Lundqvist in British F3 last year, and got one top five finish on his EF Open debut in the Winter Series races at Paul Ricard last month.

He’ll be joining championship returnee Christian Hahn and Honda junior Teppei Natori at the team, and will likely be teamed up again with Billy Monger if the Briton can find the budget to enter a full season.

?It?s fantastic to have signed for Carlin again. I am really looking forward to working with them and continuing my learning curve and results from last year,??Kjaergaard said.

?I feel like home within the team and they are very professional in their approach. Therefore, I?m confident that we?ll have another strong season!?

Prior to his breakout 2018 season, Kjaergaard had only picked up one podium in two years of car racing in a historic Lotus Elan sportscar. A season each in British F3 and Formula 4 had resulted in just two top five finishes.

“It’s great to have Nicolai back with us for another season following what was an impressive year with us in British F3,” added Carlin team principal Trevor Carlin.

“He prove to be an exciting racer to watch and he gave a good fight as he battled for the wins all season long. I look forward to continuing our strong relationship and can’t wait to see what he can achieve this year.”
