Honda junior Teppei Natori will add a part-season in Euroformula Open with Carlin to his FIA Formula 3 campaign for 2019 after impressing on his F3 debut last weekend.
Ahead of their Formula 2 and F3 seasons with Carlin, Honda-backed Japanese pair Nobuharu Matsushita and Natori entered the EF Open Winter Series at Paul Ricard to gain experience of the French circuit.
After taking two podiums on his F3 debut, Japanese Formula 4 runner-up Natori has decided to remain in EF Open, sticking with Carlin and driving in all the rounds that don’t clash with FIA F3. This means he will skip the Red Bull Ring and Silverstone events, but will race in the Pau Grand Prix.
?I?m pleased to confirm this additional championship to my 2019 season plans,? said the 18-year-old.
?I?m excited to race in Euroformula Open. We have a strong line-up and I know that we can have a good season. I look forward to working with the team further this year.?
Natori joins Brazilian Christian Hahn in Carlin’s EF Open line-up, while Winter Series team-mate Billy Monger is also expected to join the team if he can source the budget required. The team also ran BRDC British F3 runner-up Nicolai Kjaergaard at Paul Ricard, with the Dane yet to be linked with any championships for 2019.
