MP Motorsport has added Javier Sagrera to its Eurocup-3 line-up for 2024.
The 20-year-old Spaniard joined the Dutch team last October for the final two rounds of the Formula Regional European Championship season and came away with a 15th place as his best finish.
Prior to that he had been racing in Eurocup-3 for Palou Motorsport, and over the first six rounds he made the podium three times. Missing the final two rounds to switch to FREC meant he ended up eighth in the standings.
“I’m really pleased to team up with MP for my second attempt at the Eurocup-3 series,” said Sagrera.
“In 2023, I’ve laid a strong foundation for a renewed challenge this year, and I feel I’m ready to fight at the front. MP is a team that knows their stuff and has been building winning cars for decades now. I’m looking forward to stepping into one of those and show the world what I’m capable of.”
Before competing in FRegional-based series, Sagrera raced part-time in Spanish Formula 4 through 2019 and ’20 then took two podiums from two seasons in GB3.
In Eurocup-3 his team-mates will be Bruno del Pino, Emmo Fittipaldi and Owen Tangavelou.
“We are proud to have Javier on board for our Eurocup-3 team of 2024,” said MP’s team principal Sander Dorsman.
“As our adversary in 2023, Javier drove a strong season, with the podium in his debut weekend particularly impressing me. Building on his experience in the series, I’m sure he will be a strong asset who will bring home the results on every race day.”
