Mitch Evans set the pace as the second GP2 pre-season test got underway in Bahrain.

The Russian Time driver took top spot away from Norman Nato in the closing stages, beating the French Arden driver by 0.174 seconds.

Carlin drivers Marco Sorensen and Julian Leal both made the top five, split by Lazarus racer Nathanael Berthon.

Title favourite Stoffel Vandoorne wound up sixth ahead of Sergio Canamasas, who is testing for MP Motorsport this week.

The top ten was completed by Alexander Rossi, Andre Negrao and Pierre Gasly.

Just 25 cars took part, with Nigel Melker still travelling to Bahrain to make his GP2 return with Hilmer.
