Kevin Korjus continued his quick start to the GP3 Series season as he achieved the fastest time in free practice for the standalone round two at Valencia’s Ricardo Tormo Circuit.
The Estonian, who was quickest in qualifying at the season opener in Barcelona last month on his series debut, went top of the timing screens just before the half way point of the 45 minute session with a 1m22.058s that was good enough to keep the Koiranen GP man on top until the end.
Carlin’s Nick Yelloly spent that time in second place, 0.247s away from Korjus. Jenzer’s Patric Niederhauser was third ahead of Spaniard Carlos Sainz. Lewis Williamson took fifth for Bamboo ahead of the Barcelona race winners Aaro Vainio and Tio Ellinas.
Daniil Kvyat was eighthahead of Facu Regalia, who was fastest in last week’s in-season test at the Hungaroring and was top ART driver here, just in front of team-mate Conor Daly.
