Nelson Mason topped F3 Open qualifying at Jerez, winning his first pole position since the season opener, where he started from the first place two times.
The Canadian, who looked like the biggest title contender after the Winter Series, had difficulties at the beginning of the season, however, it looks like he is on the right track again in Jerez.
Mason’s closest (and only) rival was his team-mate, Ed Jones. The two West-Tec drivers are followed by four RP Motorsport cars, championship leader Sandy Stuvik, Santiago Urrutia, Alexandre Cougnaud and Alex Toril.
Three drivers fought for the Copa Class pole position, but Tommaso Menchini turned out to be the winner after he beat Cameron Twynham and Richard Gonda in a close battle.
