PetrovArtem Petrov will return to Indy Pro 2000 with Juncos Racing this year following on from a successful debut in the championship in 2019.

The Russian started the year with RP Motorsport in Euroformula, but only contested one round and rejoined the Italian squad in America instead for five races in IP2000 where he took two top-five finishes.

He also competed in the Toyota Racing Series for M2 Competition, which included his first win outside of Formula 4, and entered the FIA Formula 3 Championship season opener with Jenzer Motorsport.

?I am very happy to announce that I will be racing with Juncos Racing in the 2020 Indy Pro 2000 championship,? said Petrov.

?I have had a great time testing with the team over the past few months and I feel really comfortable with them. I am looking forward to a great season!?

Juncos is one of the most successful teams in IP2000, and won the teams’ title last year after just missing out on the driver’s crown with Rasmus Lindh. It ran debuting IndyCar driver Rinus VeeKay to the title in 2018, and Victor Franzoni the year before that.

Team owner Ricardo Juncos said, ?We are excited to announce our first driver, Artem Petrov, to our 2020 Indy Pro 2000 driver line-up.

“With the experience he brings and the relationship he has already built within our team throughout the past few months, I believe we will have a successful year.

“I want to thank Artem and his family for their commitment to Juncos Racing and look forward to building a long relationship.?
