UAE driver Ed Jones will replace Dmitry Suranovich at Fortec in European F3, scheduled to take part in a one-off round at Hockenheim, Autosport reports.
The European F3 obligations present another part of a busy season for Jones, who also contests F3 Open and Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0 this year and is scheduled to do British F3 and Formula Renault 2.0 NEC at select rounds.
“All the frontrunners in Formula Renault Eurocup are very, very good”, said team boss Richard Dutton. “He’s knocking on the door there and was in the top 10 for most of the weekend at Motorland Aragon. I think he will be alright and will surprise a few people.”
Jones, 18, made his debut in single-seaters in 2011, racing a season in Intersteps, where he finished fourth with one win. He continued his cooperation with Fortec in 2012, partaking in Formula Renault 2.0 NEC and the Eurocup, as well as taking a podium finish in his one-off appearance in F3 Open.
