British racing driver Jonathan Legris is set to make his return to F3 Open, joining Team West-Tec, with who he made his series debut in 2008.

Legris, 25, will be West-Tec’s fourth driver in the main class of the championship, joining Nelson Mason, Ed Jones and Luca Orlandi.

“Looking back, the team did great things for me before, and we have always kept in some contact”, said the driver. “I haven’t had much time to prepare but I will be giving it my all. I know Spa well, and it is fantastic, and the team has spoken highly of the newest-generation Dallara F3 car so I am really looking forward to the weekend”.

Legris started his single-seater career in 2005, and spent three consecutive seasons in Formula BMW UK. He ended up seventh in 2006 and 2007, with seven podiums and one race win to his name.

In 2008, Legris switched to Spanish F3 (currently known as F3 Open) with Team West-Tec, and finished the year third in the Copa class, finishing second overall three times throughout the season. Despite missing three rounds in 2009, the Briton finished the season in seventh place, picking up his first race victory in the series.

The 2013 season has already brought Team West-Tec six main class victories in F3 Open. The British squad narrowly leads main rivals RP Motorsport in the teams’ standings.
