Anthoine Hubert must’ve been rather dissapointed to miss out on pole to Kirill Karpov in the opening qualifying session of the French F4 season at Le Mans, but he made up for it in the race, taking the lead on lap one and dominantly taking the car to victory lane.

After 12 laps of the race, Hubert built up a lead of seven seconds from Karpov, who finished in second ahead of compatriot Matevos Isaakyan. Isaakyan himself had a race to remember, making it to the podium from eighth on the grid.

Dennis Anoschin took fourth, ahead of Felix Hirsiger and Jules Gounon. Belgian driver Neal Van Vaerenbergh managed seventh, with Valentin Naud and Marco de Peretti taking eighth and ninth.

Simo Muhonen rounded out the top ten and, with that, earned the reverse-grid pole for race two.
