Felipe Guimaraes will return to GP3 on Wednesday when he drives for Bamboo at the final pre-season test at Silverstone.
The Brazilian previously raced in the category’s maiden season in 2010 with the Addax team, finishing 16th overall with one podium. Since then he has been restricted to occasional appearances in South American F3, winning four times from six starts in 2012. At the start of this year, the 22-year-old won the F3 Open Brazil event at Interlagos.
Guimares joins?Carmen Jorda, who is confirmed with Bamboo for the season, and Melville McKee at the team for the Silverstone test, taking the place of Ryan Cullen.
The remaining 26 drivers are as in the previous test at Barcelona. Other than Guimaraes and McKee, the only drivers not confirmed for the season are Conor Daly at ART and the Marussia Manor pair of Tio Ellinas and Nick Cassidy. Daly will return to GP3 action after racing at the GP2 season-opener in Malaysia with Hilmer, after today announcing he will contest the Indy 500 on the same weekend as the GP2 round in Monaco.
