Reece Gold claimed his maiden Indy Pro 2000 pole position in qualifying on the Indianapolis road course.

The Juncos Racing driver was the only driver to go below the 1m20s mark when he set his best effort with three minutes of the session remaining.

Championship leader Braden Eves came closest to Gold’s time but was 0.285s adrift for Exclusive Autosport.

Christian Rasmussen, who took his first win at this level in the last race in St Petersburg, took third for Jay Howard Driver Development with Kyffin Simpson fourth for Juncos Racing.

Enaam Ahmed achieved his best grid position to-date in fifth for RP Motorsport, with practice pacesetter Artem Petrov having to settle for sixth.

Wyatt Brichacek, Hunter McElrea, Jacob Abel and Manuel Sulaiman rounded out the top 10 in the 13-car field.
