British Formula 4 race-winner Georgi Dimitrov will join Arden for the remainder of the 2021 season.

Dimitrov initially made the step up to the entry-level single-seater championship as the single-car entry of Richardson Racing, the team he ran with in Ginetta Junior in 2020.

But the team has now turned its focus to its sportscar campaigns and was absent from the last two F4 weekends. That means Dimitrov has dropped to last in the standings, but he will be back on the grid with his Arden move.

“I am extremely excited to be joining Arden Motorsport for the remainder of the British F4 season,” he said.

“Together, I believe we can achieve incredible results, and I just can’t wait to get started at Croft this weekend.

“Given the team’s results in previous years, I know they will do everything possible to reach the end goal, which has definitely given me a confidence boost.

“My main goal is to have fun, and end what hs been a rather disappointing season so far on a high note with this fantastic team.”

After being forced to miss the opening round of the season, Dimitrov took a victory in the reversed grid race in round two at Snetterton. Another points finish in the final race of the weekend added to his total, but he was unable to break back into the points at Brands Hatch and Oulton Park.

“Everybody at Arden Motorsport is please to formally welcome Georgi to the team,” said Arden’s team principal Garry Horner.

“His season to-date has shown plenty of promise, but there’s been some inconsistency in results, which has been frustrating for him. With our noted driver development programme, I’m sure we’ll be able to help him reach his full potential going forward.

“Croft has been a good hunting ground for the team in the past, so I look forward to monitoring his and the rest of the team’s progress this weekend.”

Dimitrov joins Zak Taylor and David Morales in Arden’s line-up.
