Alex Ninovic, the 2025 GB3 champion, will remain with Rodin Motorsport as he moves across to racing in the Formula Regional European Championship next year.
Rodin will be entering FREC for the first time in 2026 as a second-generation FRegional chassis is introduced. It will be a sideways step for Ninovic since the bespoke Tatuus MSV GB3-025 car used in GB3 this year had FRegional-level performance.
Ninovic charged to the GB3 title with nine victories and 10 poles, and was crowned with a round to spare.
“A new year, a new category and a new challenge but the same awesome team I enjoyed great success with in 2025. I can’t wait!” said the 18-year-old Australian.
It will be his fourth year with Rodin, having started off with the team in its previous guise as Carlin in 2023. He came 10th in Spanish Formula 4 as a single-seater rookie, claiming one podium.
For 2024 he moved across to British F4 with the rebranded and restructured Rodin, and was championship runner-up. Ninovic won five races, claimed 13 other podiums and was on pole four times.
“We’re very pleased that Alex will continue his journey with Rodin as we launch our new programme in FREC,” said Rodin’s sporting director Benn Huntingford.
“His performances in GB3 showed both speed and maturity and we’re confident he will carry that momentum into FREC. Having a champion like Alex with us from the very start is an exciting step for this project.”
The team’s managing director Emma Duncan added: “Alex’s season has been nothing short of exceptional. Winning the GB3 championship is a reflection of his talent, discipline, and drive – qualities that align perfectly with Rodin’s ethos. We’re proud to see him continue his journey with us into FREC, where I’ve no doubt he’ll make a strong impression from the outset.”
