Joshua Duerksen will remain in Formula 2 for a third season next year, and will drive for Invicta Racing.
The Paraguayan has spent his first two F2 campaigns with AIX Racing, and has combined race-winning form with points-free runs in both.
He came 10th in the 2024 standings, and only scored in three of the first 19 races. One of those was a feature race podium, and in the remaining nine races he won a feature and a sprint race, took a sprint race podium and two fifth places in other feature races.
Duerksen began 2025 with victory, then scored one point in the next 10 races. Second place in a sprint race was one of only two times he scored in the eight races after that. In the last two rounds he has been runner-up in both feature races and claimed a sprint race podium, lifting him to 12th in the standings. He could climb as high as fifth in the remaining two rounds.
“I’m incredibly proud to be representing Invicta Racing and Paraguay for the 2026 F2 season,” said the 21-year-old.
“The team has shown over several years that it’s one of the very best in the championship, and I’m excited to seize this huge opportunity.
“I’ve learned a lot during my time in F2 so far, and I feel ready to fight at the very front every weekend and to show what Paraguay is capable of. I’m really looking forward to starting work with everyone in the team, and I’m confident that we can achieve great things together next year.”
Invicta currently leads the driver and teams’ standings in F2, and won both titles last year. The Invicta Watch Group was title sponsor of Virtuosi Racing’s F2 squad in 2023, then bought a stake in and rebranded it ahead of the 2024 season. A full buyout was completed ahead of this season.
“Joshua has been one of the standout performers in F2 over the past couple of seasons and we’re very excited to welcome him to Invicta Racing for 2026,” said Invicta team principal James Robinson.
“He’s a proven race-winner with not only the speed, but the mindset to fight at the sharp end of the grid. Joshua’s ability to extract performance under pressure and his commitment to constant improvement have immediately impressed us, and I’m confident that we will deliver some strong results together next year.”
