Freddie Slater will make a second FIA Formula 3 appearance this weekend at Spa-Francorchamps, lining up with Hitech.
Slater made an impression on his series debut with AIX Racing in Bahrain in April, finishing second in the sprint race after battling Nikola Tsolov for the win.
The Briton’s main focus has been on his Formula Regional European Championship effort with Prema, where he leads the points after a double win at Paul Ricard last weekend. He has also taken three wins from a partial campaign in GB3 with Hillspeed.
“We are delighted to welcome Freddie to the team for the next round, said Hitech’s F3 team manager Paul Bellringer. “His single-seater career to date is impressive and his standout performance in Bahrain earlier this year was particularly creditable given that it was his series debut.
“Spa-Francorchamps is a very singular challenge for any driver, and while Freddie has raced here before, the opportunity to do so in F3 machinery is one I’m sure he will relish. We look forward to seeing him in action for Hitech.”
Slater joins Martinius Stenshorne and Gerard Xie in the Hitech F3 line-up, taking over the car previously raced by Joshua Dufek for the first four rounds of the year and later by Jesse Carrasquedo at Barcelona and Spielberg and Nikita Johnson at Silverstone.
“I’m looking forward to racing at Spa with Hitech,” Slater said. “It is one of my favourite circuits on the calendar and driving an F3 car here will be a great feeling.”
