First day of European F3 test at Monza cancelled due to snow

by Valentin Khorounzhiy

The weather conditions over at Monza have prompted the organizers of the FIA F3 European Championship season to cancel the opening day of the pre-season test at Monza.

The previous day saw many of the drivers arrive to the track (where the opening round of the championship is scheduled to take place) to find it covered with snow, rendering it undriveable. As the conditions didn’t improve sufficiently over the night,? the series organizers have decided to not allow running today. The second and final day of Monza testing is scheduled to take place tomorrow, with organisers stating that conditions are expected to improve.

The outing at Monza was scheduled to be the second pre-season test, after the first one at Barcelona was topped by Raffaele Marciello and Will Buller over the two days.

The opening round of the championship will take place this weekend, on 22-24 March, at Monza.
