Jake Dalton became the third different winner from the three races on the opening BRDC F4 weekend at Silverstone, while second-place was enough for the consistent Seb Morris to claim an early championship lead despite not winning yet.
Dalton started from second on the grid, determined by the fastest laps from the first two races, and got past pole-sitter Matthew Graham with a good start. He quickly built up an early cushion and won by three seconds from Morris.
Graham was passed for third by SWR team-mate and race two winner Jack Barlow on lap two, but retook the place soon afterwards to secure a place on the podium, where Formula 1 star and Mark Webber was on hand to present the trophies as a BRDC member.
Charlie Robertson finished in fourth ahead of race one winner Matt Bell, with Barlow shuffled down to sixth place by the end. Sennan Fielding and Ross Gunn completed the top eight, with Latin Americans Diego Menchaca and Gustavo Lima rounding out the top ten, Menchaca working his way through from the back of the grid.
A third and two second-places gives Morris a two-point lead over Dalton, with the other race winners Bell and Barlow four and eight points further back respectively. Round two takes place at Brands Hatch on 18-19 May.
