GP2 race winner Tom Dillmann will contest the next two races of the series with EQ8 Caterham Racing, following the departure of team regular Alexander Rossi.
Dillmann, 25, finished tenth in the series last year and managed a podium on his sole GP2 appearance in 2014 when he substituted for Arden’s Andre Negrao at Catalunya.
The Frenchman currently has a full-time drive in the national Porsche Carrera Cup series and has recorded victories in the series at Imola and Le Mans.
“I am really happy to be back in the GP2 Series with EQ8 Caterham Racing”, stated Dillmann. “Driving for?a successful team?means that we should be able to?achieve good results together and I hope that these two race weekends will help me find a GP2 seat for the rest of the season.”
Caterham Racing currently sit eighth in the GP2 teams’ standings, with a sole podium scored by Indonesian Rio Haryanto, who will continue racing for the squad.
“We wish Alexander all the best for the future, but now welcome?Tom to our team?and have confidence that he can help us gain top results and further boost our championship position”, said team boss Mia Sharizman.
