Nick Cassidy extended his points lead in the defence of his Toyota Racing Series as he finally claimed his first victory of the 2013 campaign in race two at Hampton Downs.
Starting from the reverse grid pole position, the New Zealander ran away to a four second win over Pipo Derani. Starting second, Derani had his mirrors full of race one winner Mitch Evans for much of the race but held on before Lucas Auer robbed Evans of the final podium spot at the very end.
Austrian Auer enjoyed a strong race from fifth on the grid, limiting the damage to championship rival Cassidy who increased his margin at the head of the standings from 11 to 26 points.
Alex Lynn lost two places to Evans and Auer to finish fifth, while Jann Mardenborough maintained his strong showing this weekend by chasing his fellow Brit across the line in sixth.
Steijn Schothorst was seventh ahead of Nicholas Latifi while Bruno Bonifacio and Tanart Sathienrakul rounded out the top ten.
