Campos Racing has announced it has signed karters Luna Fluxa and Jacob Micallef to its Spanish Formula 4 squad for 2026.
Fluxa has been a Mercedes-AMG Formula 1 junior since 2022, when she was in mini karting. The Spaniard stepped up to junior karting later that year and finished 22nd in the OK Junior class of the CIK-FIA world championship.
Fourth in WSK’s Champions Cup was the highlight of her 2023, then last year she graduated to senior karting. She won the Champions of the Future Academy Program title in OK-N Senior, and on OK karts was 30th in the CIK-FIA European championship. She remained in the latter category this year, but results did not improve.
“I am happy and excited to announce that I will be on the F4 Spain grid in 2026 with Campos Racing,” said the 15-year-old.
“It is a dream come true and an enormously important step in my racing career. I cannot wait to begin this new chapter alongside a team with Campos Racing’s history.”
Her older brothers Lucas and Lorenzo Fluxa have both previously raced in Spanish F4. Lorenzo came sixth in the 2020 season, and Lucas was eighth last year with two wins.
Campos team principal Adrian Campos Jr added: “I would like to welcome Luna to the Campos Racing family. She is a driver who has already made history in karting thanks to her results in some of the most demanding and prestigious championships worldwide. She is now ready to take on a new challenge with her single-seater debut. With her natural talent and the support we will provide, we are determined to see her continue making history for women in motorsport, also in F4.”
Miacallef does have one weekend of single-seater racing experience, having contested last month’s Saudi Arabian F4 season opener at Bahrain and finishing the two races there in ninth and seventh.
“I’m delighted to be joining Campos Racing,” he said. “It’s going to feel incredibly special to represent Malta in an FIA F4 championship, and I’m eager to fly my country’s flag to the top of motorsport.”
In junior karting Micallef came 10th in the ROK Cup Superfinal for ROK Junior karts in 2023, and has spent the last two years competing at the senior level.
On OK karts he has come 11th in WSK’s Super Master Series, 12th in its Final Cup and 18th in its Champions Cup, 14th in the European championship, 21st in the World championship and 22nd in CotF.
As a part-timer he is currently 11th in the CotF Academy Program, and a single IAME Euro Series outing led to an overall podium and put him 17th in the X30 Senior standings.
“[Micallef] is a very talented driver with impressive results in karting and is at the perfect stage to make the step up to single-seaters,” said Campos.
“We’re already working closely together to ensure his transition to F4 is as smooth and effective as possible, and we’re looking forward to achieving great results together.”
