Bruno del Pino will end a long association with MP Motorsport to join fellow Dutch team Van Amersfoort Racing in the FIA Formula 3 Championship next year.
The 19-year-old Spaniard has raced for MP since 2023, starting off in Eurocup-3 where he came seventh in his rookie campaign. He also made a Formula Regional European Championship cameo that year, and failed to score.
In 2024 he remained in Eurocup-3 and improved to third in the championship after taking three victories, five other podiums and one pole. A FRegional Middle East campaign preceded that in which del Pino came 16th.
This year he stepped up to FIA F3 and had an up-and-down rookie season. He had made the podium by his fifth race, but only had two further finishes in the top 10 after that and dropped to 23rd in the standings.
“I’m really proud to be joining VAR,” said del Pino of his 2026 move.
“It’s a project that excites me a lot, and I’m thankful for the trust the team has shown in me ahead of the 2026 season. I can’t wait to give my best on track and work hard to help the team achieve great results.”
VAR has now completed his FIA F3 line-up for next season, with del Pino becoming team-mate to Hiyu Yamakoshi and Jesse Carrasquedo Jr.
VAR’s F3 team principal Brad Joyce said of signing del Pino: “With a season of F3 already under his belt and a strong record in Eurocup-3, he brings both experience and proven consistency to the team. The upcoming post-season tests will give him the chance to get familiar with our environment and we will prepare together for the season ahead. We’re looking forward to working with him and are confident he will be a strong asset as we take on the 2026 campaign.”
