Red Bull junior driver Ernesto Rivera will step up to the FIA Formula 3 Championship with Campos Racing next year.
It will be the Mexican driver’s third year in as many different categories with Campos since making his single-seater debut with the team at the start of last year.
After karting success in the United States, Rivera joined Campos for the Formula Winter Series at the start of 2024 and finished on the podium before the campaign was out. He went on to take a further podium and a race win in the first two rounds of the Spanish Formula 4 season, which he ended fifth overall.
Rivera was also signed by Red Bull midway through last year following the relaunch of its Driver Search shootout, operated by Campos.
Stepping up to Formula Regional machinery this year, he came ninth in the Middle East championship with Pinnacle Motorsport and currently sits third in the Eurocup-3 standings with Campos, having claimed three wins, four other podiums and two pole positions so far.
“I’m really excited to continue my journey with Campos Racing and the Red Bull Junior Team for the 2026 FIA Formula 3 Championship season,” said Rivera, who turns 17 on December 1 this year.
“This is a huge step forward in my career and I’m very grateful for the trust and support from both Campos Racing and Red Bull. We’ve built a really strong foundation together this season, and I can’t wait to keep learning, growing, and fighting for big results next year. I’ll give everything, both on and off the track, to make the most of this opportunity.”
Team principal Adrian Campos Jr added: “We are delighted to continue working with a driver of Ernesto’s talent. From our very first season together, he showed a remarkable ability to learn and improve, something that has already been evident at European level in 2025.
“Ernesto is still very young, yet he stands out for his maturity, consistency, and race management. FIA Formula 3 is a highly competitive championship, but with the joint effort of everyone involved, I am convinced that his rookie season will be at least as successful as the ones before it.”
