Prema Powerteam’s Bruno Bonifacio claimed a dominant victory in the first of two races at Vallelunga circuit for the first round of the Formula Renault 2.0 Alps season. The Brazilian started from pole position, led every lap of the race and also managed to get the fastest lap on the eighth lap.

In second place came the rookie Antonio Fuoco, also racing for Prema Powerteam, after trailing Bonifacio for the entire race, staying on a strong pace in relation to his more experienced teammate and finished almost two seconds behind the Brazilian driver.

Completing the podium was Pierre Gasly for Tech 1 Racing, after opening a very substantial gap to the cars behind and having not too much pressure trough the entire race.

Nyck de Vries came in fourth place for Koiranen Motorsports, with the third Prema Powerteam car driven by Italian Luca Ghiotto finishing fifth. In sixth place was Brazilian Guilherme Silva in the second Koiranen Motorsport car, followed closely by two of the Euronova Racing drivers, British Gregor Ramsay in seventh and Japanese Uyko Sasahara in eighth.

Indian driver Parth Ghorpade finished ninth for the BVM Racing team and Italian Kevin Gilardoni finished in tenth for GSK Grand Prix Team, getting the last point scoring position.

The second race is scheduled to start on Sunday at 14:30 local time.
