Luke Browning topped a disrupted qualifying session to take two British Formula 4 poles at Knockhill.
The Fortec Motorsports driver had spent the majority of the session swapping fastest laptimes with JHR Developments’ James Hedley before the session was stopped by red flags.
A series of flying laps just before the stoppage had put him 0.182 seconds ahead of Arden’s Alex Connor in second, having lowered the benchmark to 49.330s around the Knockhill track.
An off for Connor’s team-mate Roman Bilinski paused the session, and the clock was reset to three minutes to end the session.
Once the track turned green, most of the field spent much of their time battling for on-track positions and there were no improvements at the sharp end of the field.
Argenti Motorsport’s Casper Stevenson qualified third head of Carlin’s Zak O’Sullivan and Hedly, and rose up to a front row spot on second-fastest times for race three.
Browning’s team-mate Roberto Fario dropped back to sixth after setting the pace early in the session, and Abbi Pulling was seventh fastest for JHR.
