The British Formula 4 championship will only feature races in one of the constituent nations of the United Kingdom for the first time next year.
Not included for the first time ever will be Scottish circuit Knockhill, and the 10-round schedule for 2026 will instead take place exclusively in England bar one round at Zandvoort in the Netherlands.
Also not appearing on the calendar is Oulton Park, which has appeared in all previous seasons since the championship’s 2015 inauguration bar the 2024 campaign.
Returning after a two-year absence is Croft, while Brands Hatch’s Indy layout also makes a comeback after being absent from the calendar for the first ever time this year.
For the fifth successive season, Donington Park’s National layout will host the opening round (April 18/19) and then Brands Hatch’s Indy layout makes its return to the schedule on May 9/10.
Snetterton is visited on May 23/24 for round three, its 300 layout being used as per usual, and round four is a week later on Silverstone’s full Grand Prix layout. That was first utilised in 2023, at the expense of the long-standing round on the National layout, then both have fitted on the bill since. There has even been three trips to the circuit this year, as British F4 held a non-championship round there in support of Formula 1’s British Grand Prix.
After a break, the 2026 season picks up again with races at Zandvoort (July 11/12) and Thruxton (July 25/26), then there is another break before Donington’s GP layout appears on the British F4 calendar for the fourth year in a row on August 22/23.
Croft’s return is on September 5/6, and the season concludes in somewhat traditional fashion with rounds on Silverstone’s National layout (September 26/27) and Brands Hatch’s full GP layout (October 10/11). It will be the 11th year out of 12 in which the drama of the season finale has been located there.
The exception was the pandemic-disrupted 2020 season in which the season still ended at Brands Hatch, but on the shorter Indy layout.
“This year has been exceptionally competitive, and one of the key contributing factors has been the diverse range of circuits featured throughout the season,” said British F4’s championship manager Eve Lake-Grange.
“Preserving that variety was a priority for us in planning the upcoming calendar, and I believe we have once again achieved a well-balanced and exciting mix of venues. Competing at current F1 venues such as Silverstone and Zandvoort presents an invaluable opportunity for our drivers and teams. While these are undoubtedly standout events, we are equally enthusiastic about returning to iconic British circuits including Brands Hatch Indy and Croft.”
British F4 will continue to support the British Touring Car Championship at race events in 2026.
