British driver Emil Bernstorff has been promoted to pole position to races one and three of the German F3 round at Lausitz after his teammate and championship leader Marvin Kirchhofer was excluded from the qualifying results.
Kirchhofer’s F311 failed the post-race technical inspection due to an unspecified infringement. As a result, the Lotus driver, who hasn’t finished a race outside of the podium since the opening round of the season, will start from the back of the grid in the first and third race.
Another Lotus man Artem Markelov will move up to the front row alongside Bernstorff, whose three additional points for topping qualifying mean that the duo are now level in the standings, 103 points behind Kirchhofer.
